 Features and applications: 

  • E7016-VD is a low-hydrogen welding electrode. Its low hydrogen content prevents cracking and porosity in the weld, resulting in high ductility and impact toughness at -300°C. The slag is easily removed and cleaned, is slag-free, and has minimal spatter.

  • Suitable for welding low-carbon and low-alloy steels with loads from 490 to 550 MPa, such as: ship structures, pressure pipelines, drilling rig structures, etc.

  • The metal solidifies quickly, making it easy to weld in all positions.

Instructions for use:

  • Clean off oil, grease, and dirt before welding.

  • Dry the welding rods at 300-350°C for 30-60 minutes before welding.

  • Prepare the weld edges according to regulations.

  • Select the appropriate welding current to avoid defects.

  • Use Ø 3.2 electrodes for root welds.
